Roots & Resistance: An Anti-Racism roundtable discussion hosted by Laurabel Mba. This roundtable discussion will be held at Quadrangle NL (330 Elizabeth Avenue, St. John’s, NL) in our Second Space from 1pm-4pm. Snacks and drinks will be provided.
Laurabel Mba is an award-winning leader in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Belonging, and Anti-Racism (DEIB-AR), recognized as one of WXN Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women. She is the recipient of the 2024 Women in Communication and Technology Entrepreneur of the Year Award, and the St. John’s Regatta Media Person of the Year title. Her work has also earned her nominations for the 2022 NL Human Rights Award and the 2024 YWCA Circle of Distinction Award, underscoring her profound contributions to social justice and equity.

This roundtable will focus on how best to implement anti-racism practices in non-profit settings through the lens of queerness and trans identities, and provide space to ask questions, discuss and ruminate on current practices and structures.
