Nurturing safe workplaces through decent work - Erin Kang

Nurturing safe workplaces through decent work is a workshop and roundtable discussion hosted by Erin Kang of the Ontario NonProfit Network. This roundtable discussion will be held at Quadrangle NL (330 Elizabeth Avenue, St. John’s, NL)  in our Second Space from 1pm-4pm. Snacks and drinks will be provided.

In these tumultuous and shifting times, it's important to create environments where people can be well and thrive in their workplaces; people can't do good work if they're unwell and unsupported! Trends like deep polarization, high turnover, and burnout prompt us to steward sustainable and supportive practices that are grounded in deep equity and the understanding that nonprofits are not immune to the forces of white supremacy and colonialism. It's imperative to be intentional about not replicating the harmful systems we're looking to dismantle, within our own organizations and sector. This roundtable will introduce topics and resources rooted in a decent work framework, particularly from ONN's Decent Work Pathways. It will mix light presentation with group conversation to invite reflection and meaningful commitments to integrating decent work practices in our workplaces.
Erin Kang (they/she) is a facilitator, storyteller, and dreamer living in Tkaronto. Throughout their career, Erin has been examining the relationship between people, place, and power through her studies, profession, and creative projects. They are currently the Director of Network Engagement at Ontario Nonprofit Network. As a convener and creative at heart, Erin thrives in spaces of community-building and mutuality.
